Christmas is the most joyful and anticipated time of the whole year. In Warsaw, preparations for the holiday start at the beginning of December, when the streets and parks of the capital come to life with colourful illuminations, squares are decorated with beautiful Christmas trees, and shop windows glitter with fabulous decorations. It is a time when you can learn about local traditions, listen to beautiful Christmas carols and taste Polish holiday dishes. Discover how to best spend the holiday in Poland’s capital!

1. See the Christmas illuminations along Krakowskie Przedmieście and Nowy Świat

2. Take a selfie under the huge colourful Christmas tree on Zamkowy Square

3. Take part in Christmas shows at the Multimedia Fountain Park

4. Take a walk around the Old Town to feel the festive atmosphere among the beautifully decorated houses and streets

Remember that museums have different visiting hours during the Christmas period and are closed on certain days.
